Senior Wardens Message

FROM CEREMONY TO SERVICE

We have a heavy schedule of degree work in front of us brethren. We will all need to personally extend our heartfelt thanks to W. Brother Doug Puckett. Doug has stepped up and taken over all the scheduling of candidates and arranging appropriate officers to be at lodge for the appropriate degree. He has also scheduled practices with the Deacons and Steewards to sharpen up the floor work. The results are obvios when you see them during a degree. As well, he is helped with the ritual work for those that ask (me included) Doug is fruther starting to assenble and work with back up rolls, particularly in the third degree drama. This will not olny give give us some variety in the cast but insure we habe some options in that critical degree. Do I see degree teams in the future?

Fraternally,

Bro. Ron Cunningham, Senior Warden

FROM THE SECRETARY'S DESK

Once again it is time for me to remind all members of North Hill Lodge to look at your Dues Card. If the card in your billfoldis marked with a December 31, 2008 experation date, then everybody is happyand I will not habe to send out a warning of impending suspension for non payment of Dues, our dues are on a calendar year basis and are payable in advance. this means that they are past due as of January first of the dues year. Please check your cards and send in your dues to the lodge P.O. Box Given in the return address of the trestleboard or simply give them to me at lodge.
The DUES for 2008 are $35
At this time there are 31 members who habe not paid their 2008 dues. Please note that North Hill Lodge will not allow any member to go N.P.D. if we are informed of a financial hardship situation, but also realize that it is the members responsibility to inform the lodge that a hardship exists so that the dues can be remitted by action of the Lodge.
Also there are 3 brothers that have moved that have neglected to informme of their NEW ADDRESSES. Does anyone know where Brothers Jeffrie Guthrie, Brian Chandler and Anthony Lombardi are?

Brethren, Please check your dues card to see if it shows paid through December 31, 2008 If it does not, please send in your dues for the current year 2008 and for 2007 if it applies. The amounts are $35.00 per year. If you have any questions, please call me at 467-1871 or email me at wymanjc@comcast.net

MY VIEW part 2

VW Merle Iverson, Treasurer

In my opiniion, to accomplish all of the above (part 1), the Master must become a general directing other Lodge Officers or members of the Lodge through his staff structure. He has Wardens, Deacons, Stewards, a Marshal, a Chaplain, a Tyler and hopefully a Musician. He also has many members of the lodge who want to be involved. why not appoint a member to be in charge of scheduling each of the degrees and finding the necessary members to sit in each chair for the degrees. This does not preclude an elected or appointed officers habe other responsibility, like 8 hours of their usefull vocation. Why not appoint a member to be director of works, thus chargingthat indibidual to teach and schedule proavctices sp all who desire can become proficient in every position of each degree? Why not appoint someone with an interest to be in charge of scheduling programs for education? This could include Masonic education and other education and oather education even going as far to bring instructors from the other world.

In short, a new approach is needed in the 21st century to meet 21st century needs. Lets put more people to work, each with a little, taher than one doing a lot.
